Who we are

echo2201.com is run by George Kostakis and Paris Perakis, the authors of ECHO. Contact: echo@echo2201.com.

The short version

No accounts. No cookies. No forms that collect personal data. Your decoder progress stays in your own browser and never reaches us.

What stays on your device

• Decoder progress. The answers you have solved and the hints you have opened are saved in your browser's local storage, so you can continue later. We cannot see them. Clear your browser's site data to delete them.
• Archive passphrase. If you open The Archive, the passphrase is kept in your browser's session storage until you close the tab.

Answers are checked inside your browser. They are not sent to us.

Hosting and visit statistics

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites and gives us only totals (for example, how many people opened the decoder).

Receivers of 2201 (credits)

The credits page lists Kickstarter backers who agreed in the backer survey to have their name shown. To change or remove your name, write to us and we will update the page.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us what data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Write to echo@echo2201.com. You can also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).
